Last Minute Revision Tips for APPSC Group 1 Exam

 

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts Group 1 examination to recruit candidates in the state civil services. The second stage of the examination which is Mains Exam for 2019 is going to begin from 14th December 2020 onward. The commission has not released the notification for 2020 which will encompass all the details for the next recruitment process. This article will talk about the last minute revision strategies for the state public service commission examination


The aspiring candidates who have cleared the prelims examination will have to sit for mains between 14th December and 20th December. Those candidates who couldn’t clear the prelims this year should not lose hopes but remember these tips and tricks for exams that will surely help you for the next examination. Make a note of the release month of APPSC Group 1 Notification which usually is released in January month. 

Revision Tips for APPSC Mains

There are seven papers in the mains stage. Telugu and English papers are of qualifying nature and remaining are considered for merit ranking. For all the mains papers, all the candidates have to stick to the following tips:

  1. Stick to the syllabus - The syllabus of the examination is the bible for all the competitive examinations including the Andhra Pradesh PSC Group 1 Examination. Candidates don’t have to get distracted but restrict themselves to the syllabus. 

  2. Read less books - Often candidates think that for competitive examinations, more books are needed to be referred to. However, to break this myth, it is suggested to stick to less number of books. This way, one would get more time for revision. 

  3. Revise More - The history, geography, economics, polity of the state are factual subjects where questions can be asked from current affairs related to these. Hence, a candidate needs a good strategy to revise what he/she has read. Make a periodic timetable where you know when to revise a particular subject. 

  4. Take most tests - There are multiple mock test series available in the market. Choose any one good series and take all the tests diligently. This way, one can reverse learn a lot of topics using the answer keys provided by the institutes. 

Revision Tips for APPSC Prelims

The commission took the prelims examination for 2019 on 26th May 2019. The9678 candidates passed this examination and are going to appear for Mains from 14th December 2020 onward. The APPSC Group 1 for 2020 will take place mostly in the month of May 2021. Hence, the following tips can help for prelims exam:

  1. Be updated with the current affairs.

  2. Read state text books.

  3. Check and analyse the previous years’ question papers. 

  4. Make a time table covering all subjects with equal span of time. 

  5. Revision is the key for prelims examination.


The commission has released the prelims result 2019 on 1st November 2020. Along with the result, the commission also releases the list of rejected candidates. All the aspirants should make sure that they follow the guidelines to fill the application form so as to avoid being in the list of rejected candidates for the group 1 examination.
